Empowering education and health in crisis-affected schools

In Ethiopia, most public schools lack on-site health services. Many students attend classes while facing preventable illnesses, poor nutrition, and hygiene-related conditions that negatively affect learning outcomes. Minor health problems often go unnoticed, and there is little to no systematic way to record or track student health.

To address this gap, we propose establishing a School Health Corner — a small, equipped check-up room within the school managed by a nurse or health officer. This space will provide basic health screening, first aid, and health education, while maintaining simple digital health records.

While EP2 is not a direct medical service provider, it will act as a capacity builder by supporting school health corners with essential resources such as basic record-keeping devices (e.g., laptops or tablets) and first-aid equipment. EP2 will also help deploy simple digital systems to strengthen service delivery, documentation, and data management.

Every Person Every Place (EP2) is a non-governmental, board-led humanitarian organization founded in 2024 and registered with the Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) with registration number 7369. EP2 focuses on supporting Ethiopia's internally displaced persons through initiatives in accelerated learning, feeding programs, and health education. The organization is authorized to operate in all regional states of the country.
